it’s a daisy day!

NaPoWriMo day 25

.

happy happy daisy day, baby

it’s a new day, a new way

take off shoes and socks, wriggle toes and feet

you can’t squash us, we give freely of our sweet

profusion of daisy love and innocence

carpets your steps towards limitless

from now on, hon, each tiny central golden sun

will remind you, petal, you’ve only just begun

.

so happy happy daisy day, in a clear daze, honey

sit amongst us, let us and grass tickle your tummy

you’ll find your laugh, your smile

in a a very little daisy while

remember

Freya sits beside ya, sister

fragrant silent listener

.

btw April 25 2021

not a haiku

.

daisy: slang term for some thing good

.

daisies symbolize innocence and purity

.

stems from an old Celtic legend, God sprinkled daisies over the earth to cheer people from grief.

.

In Norse mythology, the daisy is Freya’s sacred flower

Freya first brought art to the Gods and to the world. She is the goddess of everything feminine…love, beauty, sex, fertility, gold

Our prompt for today (optional, as always) is to write an “occasional” poem. What’s that? Well, it’s a poem suited to, or written for, a particular occasion.
